Amid the sign-stealing saga that has rocked the baseball world and cost three managers their jobs, many are speculating who might be the next to lead these talented teams.
On Wednesday,
SportsBetting.ag set odds for the Red Sox next manager, and one name has gone from longshot to favorite in just 48 hours. Ron Roenicke started with 16/1 odds, but an abundance of bets on the bench coach to be the next permanent manager has dropped his odds to 2/1.
For the Mets, ESPN broadcaster Eduardo Perez is listed as the favorite with 3/1 odds. However, Luis Rojas, Hensley Meulens and Tim Bogar are not far behind.
The Astros quickly named Joe Espada the interim manager following the firing of A.J. Hinch, but it's starting to feel like they want a fresh face for the permanent role. Buck Showalter, who has already interviewed with the team, is the favorite with 2/1 odds while Cubs' third base coach Will Venable is second and is scheduled to interview today.
Manager odds are subject to change but will update in real-time here:
