When the biggest star in college football tests positive for coronavirus, there’s a ripple down effect in the odds.
After news broke that Trevor Lawrence would miss this week’s game, and possibly more, due to COVID-19, odds for the CFP Championship, Heisman Trophy and Clemson’s matchup against Boston College immediately came off the board.
According to
SportsBetting.com, The Tigers were as high as 30.5-point favorites for Saturday’s game versus Boston College. Without Lawrence, that line was reopened last night at -24.5, and has since been bet down to -23.5 – a seven-point swing because of Lawrence.
In terms of National Championship futures, Clemson was a +120 favorite yesterday and it remains the overall favorite in the adjusted odds. However, the Tigers saw their odds slightly decrease and are now listed at +150.
